New Jewels

In preparation for low cut summer tops and not dressing like an Inuit anymore, I thought some new jewelry was in order.

Everyday is a black tie affair. So throw on some Vintage inspired pearl teardrop earrings or this spiffy metal bow tie.

Angels or Demons. Bad book, good jewelry.

Disco Earrings

Keep loved ones close to your heart, your stylish stylish heart.

Endless details in this super long necklace...endless.

I sell seashells, but not by the seashore.

Inspired by an upcoming trip to Florida...the good part. I can say things like this because I'm from New Jersey.

Pretty Tensha bead teardrops, so sweet you may shed a tear.

No jumping through hoops for these brass earrings.

Spring Shops and Shows

Get out and enjoy the weather. If you enjoy a good day of perusing the markets of Brooklyn for some rare and one-of-a-kind pieces, I would recommend:

The Brooklyn Indie Market in Carroll Gardens BK. Swing by on the weekends, after brunch, for one-of-a-kind handmade finds. Check out the website for upcoming special events at the market.

Treehouse Brooklyn is another great place to find rare or one-of-a-kind items that you can rock, knowing no one else will be wearing it. But the clothes and jewelry aren't the only awesome thing about this shop the atmosphere is so warm and friendly, you may not want to leave. It's also conveniently across the street from that super lax spot that is Daddy's. So when you're tuckered out from trying on all the great frocks, get yourself a tall boy and kick back.

Better Than Jam, once just a handmade brand, is now the newest co-op in BK! Hurray! So if you're living in the Bushwick area of BK, get your tush over there and check out all the great local designers they have to offer. Keep an eye out for their occassional trunk shows too, shop and party and party and shop.
Spring is a great time to get outdoors, after being cooped up all winter I think it's time to get out and hear some music.

Check out listings for every day of the week (including free shows) at ohmyrockness.com. They'll keep you updated, almost too updated, if that's possible. In fact, if you can't decide what to see, you can let them decide for you. The folks at ohmyrockness know that sometimes decisions are hard and they've provided a list of reccomended shows for us to choose from. So nice.

If I had money I would see:

LCD Soundsystem at Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight (8 April ) or Head over to Brooklyn's Shea Stadium for the High Places show. Check out Todd P's website for more info.
Screaming Females at the Fillmore tomorrow night or go to Monster Island Basement for a show curated by Weird Records.

Thanks Todd

and Small Black on Saturday at Music Hall of Williamsburg

Because I don't have money I'll probably go to:

Brian Degraw (Gang Gang Dance) at Thirty Days NY Family Bookstore tonight

Free show at Zebulon tomorrow

And Mirror/Dash on Saturday

It's good to have options.
